Beach Day

The only time the girls have been to the beach has been for 10-15 minutes if we were nearby doing something else. I've never taken the girls to the beach just to go to the beach until today. I was always afraid it would be too much work and that it would turn out to be a disaster. Today I bit the bullet and went to the beach with a few friends and their kids.

At first Keilah did not want to play in the sand. For the first hour or so she just layed on the blanket and watched all the other kids as they were playing. Eventually she made her way out there and discovered what fun it is! By the time we left she was literally rolling in the sand, covered from head to toe. Then one of the older kids took her out in the water to jump the waves. Keilah had a blast! She was out there for probably 3 hours. Poor girl was shivering from the water being cold, but she did not care.

After Katie's nap I took her down to the water to see what she thought about it. At first she screamed like I was trying to hurt her. She soon warmed up to it and eventually was laughing and kicking her legs everytime a wave would come and get her.

We had so much fun and can't wait to go back.
