Katie turned 1 year old today! I can't even believe how fast this year has flown by!
Yesterday she started standing up by herself without holding on to anything. When I went to get her after nap time today, she was standing by herself in the middle of her bed. It is like the whole standing alone thing just clicked yesterday. Jason said that she took a step yesterday too (I was away at a friend's baby shower). She has tried to do that before but actually missed the step and fell flat on her face. So I guess that counts as her first step! It is only a matter of time now.
I didn't take any pictures today because it was pretty much an uneventful day. I did take her to have her portraits taken, so I will post those when they come in next week.

Her photo with the elephant didn't turn out the greatest, but it was the only shot I could get of her. She would NOT sit still! Too many places to go and things to play with!
