Busy day in San Diego

Keilah has been begging for weeks to go to Sea World. So we decided to go one last time before our passes expire at the end of the year. We got the girls all packed up and on the road headed to Sea World. We had already been on the road for a little while when I pulled my wallet out to make sure the passes were indeed in there. That is when I discovered that my pass expired on Christmas Eve while Jason's pass was good through Dec 31st. Shoot!! I called Sea World and explained our situation to see if they could extend my pass. Of course the answer was no. J & I decided that it was not worth paying $56 for my admission for us to be there for only 4-5 hours. I did find out while talking to Sea World that because Jason never once used his pass (umm, sorry dad) that we could mail it back and they would issue a refund.

We could not turn around and go home because I was returning my sister's purse to her that she left on christmas eve. We were trying to figure out something fun to do while we were all the way down in San Diego. After toying with several ideas, we decided to spend the day at the Zoo. My parents have passes and 2 free guest admission tickets that expire on 12/31. Sweet! We met them there, on what must have been the busiest day I've seen at the zoo. Keilah wasn't nearly as disappointed about not going to Sea World when she heard that Papa, Nana, and Uncle Doug were going to be at the zoo also. Keilah insisted on seeing the polar bears and elephants. After we made our way around the park for a few hours we headed back to my parents' house where Kris, Justin, and Kristin joined us for dinner.
Before going home we stopped by my aunt's neighborhood to look at christmas lights. Her neighborhood is known as Candy Cane Courts and is on holiday light maps for San Diego county. We thought the display would be up until New years, but we were incredibly disappointed to find that a lot of the houses did not turn their lights on or had already taken them down. Note to self: go before christmas next year.

All in all it was a fun day!

Watching the show
Jason and Katie. She scrunches her nose when she smiles sometimes.
Katie laughing at Keilah in the car. I love listening to them playing together.
Christmas lights!
