Getting closer to going home

The doctor increased Katelynn's feedings from 60mL to 80mL. If she handles 80mL for 2 feedings then they can remove the IV! I am confident Katelynn won't have a problem. Her orders for yesterday were 60mL, but the nurses went ahead and gave her 75mL all day yesterday with no problem. At her feeding right after the new orders, she ate 90mL and probably would have kept eating if they had let her. So if she does well at her 6pm feeding she won't have the IV when I go in to see her at 9pm tonight. They will leave the heplock in for the antibiotics, but she won't have the lines anymore.

The nurse also said that they came in and did her hearing test this afternoon. She said that typically they don't do the hearing test until just before discharge, so she thinks that Katelynn *might* be discharged VERY soon. I am praying it is tomorrow!

************update 10:00pm*************
Katelynn's IV was gone! The only thing left at this point is 1 more x-ray tomorrow morning. If the x-ray comes back clear then she *should* be discharged tomorrow...if not she will have to stay another 3 days.

Praying for a perfectly clear x-ray!!
