Katelynn's 2 week check-up

Katelynn had her 2 week check up today with our pediatrician.

She is back up to 9lbs and is supposedly 21 inches long. (I say supposedly because the method they use measure the length seems to have a fairly large margin of error.) Katelynn is doing well. We go back next week for a weight check to make sure she is gaining weight appropriately.

The ped and I had a long discussion about establishing my milk supply, since I had so many problems nursing Keilah. Our ped is from India, so she was telling me how the women there do absolutely nothing except sleep and breastfeed for the first 6 weeks. They have their meals brought to them, they have someone else come to bath and massage the baby, they also get frequent massages, and they have fenugreek as a regular part of their diet beginning in pregnancy. Talk about a babymoon! The doctor wants me to take then next week or two and try to sleep during the day as much as possible, drink tons of water, start taking fenugreek, and no cooking/cleaning/answering the phone/etc. Doctor's orders!! LOL. Apparently all the resting and bonding helps set the stage for nursing and will help establish a strong milk supply.
Hopefully I won't have supply issues this time like I did with Keilah.
