Katelynn's Diapers

This is for Crystal...who shares my love for cloth diapers. :)

A little background first. I started cloth diapering Keilah when she was about 6 months old with a pocket diaper called FuzziBunz. I decided to branch out this time and bought prefolds, fitteds, & covers in addition to pockets. I started collecting newborn diaper when I was 5-6 months pregnant. You'd be amazed at how difficult it is to get your hands on certain WAHM (Work At Home Mom) diapers that are highly sought after. [You'd also be amazed to learn that I've seen a certain brand of diapers get auctioned off for hundreds--yes hundreds--of dollars for a single diaper! That a kid poops in. Instanity I tell you!] It took months, but I was finally able to build up a stash that I was happy with. I finally got the last of my small diapers in the mail on Friday.


Fitteds
Fitteds are not waterproof and do need a separate cover.

Top row are Kissaluvs. Bottom row (L to R) are Kindhearted Woman, Pattynap, Pampered Cheeks, and another Kissaluv.

Covers
Covers are waterproof and go over the fitteds.

Columns (Left to Right) are Thirsties, My Precious Baby by April, and Mudshrimps (the mudshrimps never fit...Katie was too big to ever wear them, lol)

Pockets
Pockets are basically a waterproof cover with an inner layer of fabric that is open at one end creating a pocket to put an absorbant insert into. The inner fabric (either microfleece or suedecloth) pulls the moisture away from the baby's skin and locks into the insert.

I've decided that I like pockets the best, so I will be selling off the fitteds and covers soon. Newborn size fitteds don't fit for very long when your babies pop out at 9lbs, lol.
